Footloose is the story of Ren McCormack, a teenage boy from Chicago, who moves to the small town of Bomont with his mother. Ren is prepared for the adjustment to his new high school but not for the ban on dancing by Reverend Moore, who is bent on exercising control over the town's youths. With the help of Ariel (the Reverend's daughter), Ren starts a campaign to 'cut loose' and overturn the law in spite of bad boy Chuck and the locals prepared to believe the worst about Ren. What emerges is a heartfelt story of love and friendship, a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. This energetic and dynamic production, bursts onto stage with songs including 'Holding Out For a Hero', 'Let's Hear It For The Boys', 'Mama Says', and the title song 'Footloose'. Suitable for all ages Footloose is presented by SOSage Factory, the talented youth wing of Solihull on Stage local society.
