A celebration of the life of Joe Hill union organisor and songster to mark the 100th anniversary of his execution by the U.S. government. Joe Hill is an iconic figure of the American Labour Movement who still inspires people through his life and his songs to this day. A migrant worker and union activist member of the IWW he was murder by the US government on November 18th 1915. An open mic session with projected lyrics to sing along and information on his life and the workers struggle of the early 20th century in the USA. An evening to inspire the struggles of today. As Joe Hill said of his death ‘Don’t mourn – organise!’ Musicians welcome.
